The police watchdog is currently assessing Merseyside Police's involvement in a crash involving a 13-year-old boy.
A 13-year-old boy is in hospital with a serious leg injury being hit by a police car. The crash happened at around 3.50pm on Wednesday, November 8.
Merseyside Police reported three bikes were riding towards a police vehicle on Southdean Road in Dovecot. One of the electric bikes was hit by a police car, which led to a 13-year-old boy being injured.

An investigation into the crash is ongoing and police are now appealing for any witnesses to come forward. Detectives have confirmed that they made a mandatory referral to the Independent Office for Police Conduct.
A spokesperson for the IOPC said: "We were notified of an incident by Merseyside Police on Wednesday (8 November) where we were informed of a road traffic collision involving a police vehicle and an e-bike.
"It was reported that two males came off the e-bike after contact was made on Southdean Road in Liverpool. We have been told the rider was taken to hospital with a leg injury.
"We have asked the force to send in a referral due to the police contact. Once received, we will assess the referral before deciding whether the IOPC needs to be involved in any investigation."
