A teenager who died after being hit by a train has been named locally by friends.

British Transport Police were called to the railway line at Padgate on Saturday, November 18 at around 1.13pm following reports of a person on the tracks. Once officers and paramedics attended the scene they found an 18-year-old man at the station.

Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man died at the scene. A spokesperson from BTP confirmed the incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.

A spokesperson said: "Police were called to Padgate Station at around 1.13pm on Saturday (18 November) following reports of a casualty on the tracks. Paramedics also attended, but sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."

Following the news of the teens death, a number of tributes were left at the train station in his memory including flowers, balloons, a Lucozade sport energy drink and a bar of Galaxy. Notes were also left at the scene paying tribute to Harry.

One read: "RIP Harry, Gone too soon. You will never be forgotten. Always in our hearts.

"One of the funniest people I have ever met. Me and everyone is going to miss your laughs and the partying. Fly high Prince. I miss the times we would climb up the tree in Kelly's old house.

"Our memories will always have a special place in my heart. We all love and miss you already."

Another note, left next to a crown, said: "The only prince I knew. You were only here for a short time but you brought love and happiness to everybody. You will be missed dearly by all. Shine bright in the sky, sleep well."

Another added: "Rest peacefully, fly high Harry. I will always remember you."
